I was kindly invited to join a common “mid-month-theme” about subways (or underground, metro, tunnelbana…), previously shared between New York and Stockholm. This month’s subject is "the exterior of a metro (subway…) station by night".
One photo should be chosen to illustrate the subject. I had to fight with myself not to include a few more according to my habits. (As a compromise, you can find a few more photos on my photo blog.)
This one was taken a few days (nights) ago at the metro station Place de Clichy, one of the stations decorated by Hector Guimard around 1900.

Bonjour Peter, quand je vais à paris, il est vrai que je ne fais pas vraiment attention à la station de métro. Je devrais, il y a certainement des choses intéressantes à voir. Et comment se passe ces jours-ci l'utilisation des transports publics dans la ville de paris? ;-) pas trop de stress et d'énervement? Bonne journée et bises

ReplyDeleteAvec le jour qui tombe assez vite en ce moment tu ne dois pas trop te geler dehors la nuit pour prendre tes photos et elles sont nettes,je ne les réussies pas très bien les miennes, je n'ai pas encore essayé le petit pied.

ReplyDeleteOff the topic, but touching on the transportation strike - my friends in Paris blame Sarkozy for all the ills, while French press reports his approval rating at 70%!
Whom should I believe?
It is really interesting to study them by contrast and comparison. I like the theme :)

I believe the thruth is somewhere between. The majority is against the strike, maybe some 60%. Sarkozy's general popularity should be on some 55% level.
Your photo makes me want to go to Paris immediately - or maybe I'll wait for the striking season to end first.

j'ai des souvenirs très fort, très "parigot" (amuse toi à traduire ce mot Peter...) de la Place Clichy avec ses brasseries : j'avais l'impression de sentir la mer en passant à côté des plateaux de fuits de mer. Et l'académie de billard, elle est toujours là ? les pharmacies ouvertes toute la nuit, la librairie coincée entre deux cinémas pornos...

Les fruits de mer sont toujours là ainsi que l'académie de billard - un peu plus loin. Pour les cinémas pornos, je pense aussi qu'il faut aller un tout petit plus loin. ... et tu as aussi le cinéma Pathé avec je ne sais pas combien des salles...etc. etc...
