Poets, musicians...

I continue to talk about some famous people who lived in the area.

This is where the French poet Stéphane Mallarmé (http://www.mallarme.net/Accueil) lived. Here met frequently some of his closest friends like Verlaine, Beaudelaire, Rimbaud...

Claude Debussy (http://www.musicologie.org/Biographies/d/debussy_c.html) lived also quite close and often joined Mallarmé. One of Mallarmé's works was "L'après-midi d'un faune" to which Debussy made music. Later (1912), the Russian dancer and choreograph, Nijinski (http://www.imagidanse.com/francais/opera/Saison2002-2003/Ballets/Presse/Nijinski.html), made a ballet to the music. It became one of the references in the repertoire of the "Ballets Russes" (Diaghilev) (http://www.ac-orleans-tours.fr/musique/Stravinsky_analyse%20de%20l).
