When will the bananas be ripe?

Since one month now, I have followed the evolution of a banana tree in "my" park. I'm amazed by the speed it grows. I will continue to watch it, but perhaps not quite so often.

I'm just as amazed at the speed of growth Peter. There is one over at block's backyard....one moment I saw bunches of bananas, next it's gone too :)

What you do is just amazing. Nice to see something is growing. Very quick though.

When I published the first photo, April 9, I did not know what kind of plant this is. Different comments (the first one from hpy) have made me understand that it must be a banana tree. Yes, it is a bit surprising to find such a plant here. I'm courious to see what will happen to it before next winter.

did you know that Sarko was here in Malta with his little ship/big yacht!! he was in the news papers yesterday

Peter said...

dina:

Yes, we know. This has been the major subject in our news media the last couple of days. Not because of his choice of going to Malta, but because of the private jet, the 60 meter yacht etc., somehow in contrast with his nice speaches before and just after the election.

Anyhow, Im' sure he, family and friends enjoyed their stay on and around your island!

I believe there will be no bananas (too cold), but the speed at which the leaves grow is amazing!
